Baby Shower Invitations [Cards] - You're Invited!

This adorable invitation can be cut 3 ways. The card itself measures about 11" across before folding and is a tri-fold design. Two cards will fit comfortably on a 12x12 sheet. The front window differs from card to card so that different phrases and parasols can be mounted to the face. On one, the words "You're Invited" appear with the parasol, on another, the words "Baby Shower" are used with the parasol, and on the last example, just the parasol is placed on the front in the window. (You can also remove the window entirely if preferred.) The middle insert features a cut out which looks like rain, and the back fold is reversed so that it has a drop-shadow effect. Baby can be mounted with a pop dot or foam tape, or cardstock or vellum can be placed behind the rain cutout so that details for the event can be printed and adhered to the inside fold. If I were to cut this again, I would use a darker blue so that it had more contrast with a white vellum insert and would not require any chalking or detail. (I scanned it first without chalk and it was so bright on the scanner that it was hard to see the difference between the rain cutouts and the reverse.) If you had many of these to make, a higher contrast would mitigate the need to spend time detailing pieces and just make it a simple project requiring a few folds and adhesive. I absolutely LOVE the way this turned out---it's elegant, fun, whimsical and adorable all at the same time---it was a howl to make and the visual impact is undeniable. I wish I had a reason to use it myself!
